Woke up when (or as) a little kid burst in. He apologized then came back in another minute. We talked for a while then I went in and ate cherries with him and his little sister, Jennifer. It seemed from the way he talked that he had been living on Cheerios for the past few days.
Afterwards I rolled up the sleeping bag and put it away. Tied Mortimer up outside the car with food and water. Cleaned up the car. Then went into the home and waited for Phil and Terry to wake up. Played records and talked to John.
Phil & T woke up and ate. They decided to move things around. They took a big, rather nice, couch out and put it in the yard. Then they spent half the day trying to rearrange the few broken things. I helped. After waiting most of the day I took Phil to pick up his car.
We split up - I was going to go back that night. Did some shopping then went to Whiskeytown Recreation Area and went swimming - very nice - clear water. Sunned myself & went diving off a big log that was floating in the water. Temperature - 100 degrees. Whole area is like a desert. They have palm trees here.
Finally went back to Phil's house - wrote in the journal some then put strings on guitar and tried tuning it. Was sitting on the stoop all this time because it seemed like no one was around. Finally they came out - they were napping. Then they left till dark.
Went in house and sat around doing nothing till supper. Pork chops, baked potatoes, and salad and corn. Good! Afterwards talked a little then went to bed. Floor was hard - didn't sleep great but had a good nights sleep.
