This is being written three days after first arriving at Glacier - Many Glacier Campground. Right now I am at Avalanche Campground on the West side of Glacier N.P. Therefore these memories aren't as complete or un-thought-out.

Was cloudy at Glacier the first day. Didn't rain. Set up camp in a nice spot between and among a group of trees. Was cold in day and colder at night.

Met two girls from Texas but they didn't come back later. Had a snowball fight. Couldn't seem to meet anyone else.

Second day there, met 4 young kids from Calgary Canada. 10-5 years old. They liked playing with Mortimer.

Went on a hike to Iceberg Lake. There was snow in campground. Snow on the trail. Last 2 1/2 miles of trail was all over snow. However it was hot out. You only needed a regular shirt. 2 weeks before this the whole campground was under snow. At Iceberg couldn't see anything - trees were covered. Didn't even know where the lake was. Snow must have been 40 - 50 ft deep. No kidding.

That night I went to the lodge where I had found out they were having a little discothequeing. Talked to some of the workers there but didn't do any dancing & didn't really meet anybody. It was a nice change though. Drinks are stronger & more expensive here.
