Lassen Volcanic National Park, California, Summit Lakes Campground
Went to the Entrance Station to get groceries and to sightsee. On way back decided to go to Bumpass Hell - had mudpots & sulfur vents and hot pools just like Yellowstone. Had to hike over snow to get to it.
Practiced on guitar but didn't concentrate on it - mosquitoes (for which this is a beautiful area) and too hot sun. Remember the desolate area - the big mud slide - hot air blast?
I've eaten supper early enough to attend the evening campfire. There are new people in camp. This is a nice place to stop at. There's lots to see and there are quite a few hiking trails. Sure isn't a place to meet girls though.
Went to evening campfire - Naturalist was very interesting - answered questions and sang songs. Afterwards I built a campfire and stayed up half the night practicing on the guitar.
