Pantoll Campground, Mt Tamalpais, California

Figured I'd go back to Mt Tamalpais and get there early and get a spot as people moved out to go home. Got there at 9. Walked around, found some people who were packing, and signed up for their spot right away. Each space was taken as soon as it was vacant. I was way on the top of a hill. Had to carry everything up there - about 200 - 300 yards.

As I was taking the first load up I saw a backpacker there. Was worried that he thought the spot was empty. Was only making tea. After I insisted he stay (several times) he offered me some. I accepted. Was okay. He was a college professor who was going to climb Mt Shasta in another week (14,000 ft). He was just testing out his gear.

Afterwards I made breakfast and set up camp. Brought most everything up here. Was hot so I went down to the beach and shopping. Beach was crowded almost like Jones. Very free area. Girls wear practically nothing. Millions of people and cars. Resort area all along coast. Everyone is brown. I won't be able to tan anywhere near as much as them.

That and my accent (which everyone recognizes as a New York Accent) will give me a hard time I think.

Then I went back to camp and made a call home. Everyone is all right. Can bring Bob to New York if I wish. Raccoons raided all the bread that night. Also took some dog food. Didn't sleep well.
