Wheeler Gorge Campground, near Ojai, California

Ate another hearty breakfast, packed the car (whole thing took 2 hours) and took off. Was headed for Los Angeles. Got down quickly enough because Hwy 1 ran into Hwy 101 and together they're just like an interstate.

The camp is a National Forest Camp. Cheap $1.00 a night. I've decided to stop here for mail. It's very, very hot. However the ocean is only about 20 minutes away. It should be alright.

Bugs here are terrible. They won't leave you alone. Most of them don't bite but it's a bother having them buzzing around you all the time. There's a small stream right next to my campsite. I didn't set up the tent.

Made hamburger after it got dark. Was too hot to eat before then.

Talked to a girl who wanted me to come over (as I was setting the tarp up she came along the river, looked at me, and then sat down by the riverbed). When I finished I went down and talked. I played guitar a little for this little girl.

Went to bed on top of the sleeping bag.
