Wheeler Gorge Campground, near Ojai, California
Went to look for mail. Was early so I went down to Ojai to look for the book “Future Shock“. They don't have any new book stores. Then I went to cash a check. They all said void on the top after being put through the wash. The bank called American Express and they okayed it.
I decided to go down to L.A. and get it straightened out. I went back for the mail. None had come.
I started for L.A. then realized I hadn't paid my fee at the camp (because I had no dollar bills and not enough change). So I turned around, went back and then went to L.A.
Wasn't too hard to find it. I got them replaced easily then got the new ones.
Then I went to U.C.L.A. It's big and beautiful. Much bigger than Stony Brook. They probably have 50,000 students. It's very well laid out. I looked at the bulletin boards (as usual) and saw many people offering and asking for a ride. I tried calling a few but got nowhere. I may try again today.
Then I went back home and cooked franks & beans & sauerkraut for dinner.
The Volks seems to be operating better. It only misses at very high speeds. Still eats oil.
Was going to buy Future Shock there. Cost $1.95 & 10 cents tax. Only had $2.00 on me. Oh well.
