Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota

Left Lake Carlos and came to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Search of Sun. Near Bismark, N. Dakota broke out into sun. 50 miles later was back in clouds. Oh well.

N. Dakota is a big state. I drove and drove and drove. Road is straight as an arrow. Just goes up and down some. Been driving 70 - 75 (sometimes 80) miles per hour. Cars still pass me. Volks eats gas at those speeds. Been filling it twice a day. Was rainy here at Theodore. All it did was drizzle some but the clouds are depressing.

Met two people going to California. Talked with them till 11:00. They make good coffee. Didn't get their names though.

It's cold. Put two shirts & sweat shirt on. 40 degrees out. Memories came back about Theodore. Has much more vegetation than I remember. Had much more fun last time. Was a kid then. I didn't know I was ever so young.

River is high and muddy. Not too many people here about 20 spots are occupied.

Odometer 57,580 (540 miles driven)
